Dee Margo, Texas House District 78 candidate, has filed another special pre-election report telegram with the Texas Ethics Commission showing the Stars over Texas PAC gave him another $25,000.
That pushes their investment in Margo to more than $100,000.
The Republican political action committee, heavily funded by Speaker Tom Craddick, emerged from the ashes of TRMPAC, sharing its predecessor's mission to maintain a Republican majority in Texas. The PAC is Margo's largest contributor.
The late donation suggests that the Republican leadership is worried that Margo, who looked to be a shoo-in last month, will lose the race to Moody.
Since weathering "blog-gate," Moody has released TV ads, blanketed the city with mail-outs and raked in the cash.
Margo led Moody 46 to 34 percent in a scientific survey published in the El Paso Times on Sunday. Fifteen percent of the respondents were undecided.
HD 78 is seen by both parties as crucial to their plans for control of the legislature which is why the race has raised more money -- more than $1 million -- than any other El Paso house race in history.

GREAT JOB JOE MOODY!!! Keep up the hard work!!
As for Dee... how do you deny the connection to Cradick now? I'd like to NOT have a relationship with someone who is willing to give me $100,000.
And for the El Paso voters... shouldn't we be curious what is so important on the upcoming agenda that Craddick would invest so much money in Dee to try to win an "unimportant district"? Seems to me like he must be spending all of that money for a reason... to use our vote for something VERY important to HIM and HIS district.

Keep the faith, Joe. El Paso needs a dedicated Rep who is willing to work for his district. Not a Rep who represents the Austin crowd.

It's "shoo-in," not "shoe-in." (NPT: Noted. Thanks)

Moody's latest mailings insult the intelligence of anyone with an education beyond the 5th grade. Dee owns an insurance agency and has about as much to do with regulating insurance rates in Texas as "Little Joe" has with jury selection in his father's courtroom.
Moody is appealing to the morons of his District and if he wins they will have elected one of their own as their representative. Moody needs to grow up on his own time - not ours!

What about the $500,000 Mr. Moody has gotten from out of town trial lawyers? Who's he representing?

A - They both take roughly equal amounts of out of town money... But when asked about it who has the arrogance to look voters in the "eye" and say... "I don't have any significant relationship or owe any support to the guy who just sent me $100,000" If you believe that i have bridge for sale on eBay you're sure to be interested in.
Ken - who is playing to the morons of the district? The young guy who points out that maybe Dee has an interest in insurance regulation, or a guy who denies relationships and conditional bequests from people who have no interest in seeing El Paso prosper.
And if you ask Dee in certain settings he'd have you believe those people he "knows" give him a lot more to do with insurance regulation than you seem to think.

Surely this pack rat is just another pinko bought and paid for by the pack in Austin why should we the constituents vote for someone that will deny us the protection and representation we need.
He never backed El Paso regarding the poisonous ASARCO opening approval by the TCEQ Gestapo committee, why did Margo have a closed door meeting with Governor Perry and never gave El Pasoans the opportunity to now the plans that would prevail after his election. Moody please represent us well in Austin if you intend to run again.
Phone polls are NOT scientific polls

Calling people who only have land lines for this "poll" is not anywhere NEAR being scientific. It only polls one small segment.
Why would NPT even print "scientific" and expect to be taken seriously?
If it is being done by El Paso Times, (who is so blatantly pandering and trying to influence voters toward Margo) and being really embellished by NPT then you know Moody is probably going to get it....
Too many people are VOTING , or at work and are too busy to be participating in "polls" done by EP TIMES..
