Mayor and City Council Compete Again for Charity

WHO: Mayor John Cook and City Council Representatives

WHAT: Will compete in the 2nd Annual Salvation Army Red-Kettle Ring-Off

WHEN: TOMORROW - Friday, November 21, 2008
5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

WHERE: Bassett Place
6101 Gateway West

WHY: The El Paso Mayor and City Council will again put on a spirited competition to help the Salvation Army raise funds through their signature red kettle campaign. Each of these elected officials will take part in a one-hour “ring-off” competition to see which member of the Council can raise the most funds.

A random drawing to determine where each participating City Council Representative will be stationed in Bassett Place will take place at 4:45 p.m. by the Customer Service Booth located at the East end of the mall. (Media is advised to use the public entrance located adjacent to Costco, which faces south towards I-10). The “ring-off” will then take place for one hour between 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Come out and support your Mayor or Council representative, and donate to a charitable cause while you are at it!
